Physician strength peels use an acid specifically selected for your skin needs to increase cell turnover, retexturize and smooth the skin, while improving skin aging, hyperpigmentation, acne and rosacea. May produce minor flaking and redness post-peel.

After your chemical peel treatment:

- Avoid the sun and keep SPF protection on the face for 7 to 10 days

- Avoid exercise and strenuous activities for 72 hours

- Keep skin moisturized

- Avoid sun exposure, scrubs, rubbing, pulling dead skin, depilatories, waxing, benzoyl peroxide, and exfoliating or glycolic acid products for at least 24 to 48 hours before or after any chemical exfoliation.

- Depending on the specific types of chemical peel used, you may experience redness, tenderness, flaking, or peeling in the days after your treatment.

Recommended Frequency of Treatment:

- Usually, treatment plans begin with a series of 6 to 8 peels given weekly to jumpstart your progress.

- Maintenance and ongoing treatments may be scheduled once a month.

- Discuss your goals and desired results with your skin care professional to determine what frequency, type of peel, and strength of peel is best for you.

- It is best to receive chemical peel treatments in the winter months of the year when sunlight is less strong.

- Some peels may need to spaced further apart, discuss timing with your skin care professional.  Some down time may be required after your treatment.

Contraindications:

- Pregnancy and/or lactation (breastfeeding)

- Recent cosmetic surgeries, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, or dermabrasion

- Recent injectables, fillers, or Botox

- Use of Retin-A or other medications that exfoliate or thin the skin

- Allergies or sensitivities to products or ingredients

- Active herpes simplex

- Hyperpigmentation tendencies

- Inflamed rosacea or acne

- Infectious diseases

- Open sores or suspicious lesions

- Sunburn or irritated skin

- Photosensitizing medications
