Unlock your potential: A Primary Series Ashtanga Workshop for every body
Are you curious about Ashtanga yoga but feel intimidated by its reputation? Or maybe you're a seasoned yogi looking to refine your practice and rediscover its foundational wisdom? Our upcoming Ashtanga Primary Series workshop is designed for you—whether you're just starting out or ready to go deeper.
The Ashtanga Primary Series is a powerful, set sequence of postures designed to purify and align the body. Its dynamic and invigorating flow builds strength, flexibility, and stamina, but its benefits reach far beyond the physical. The practice can reduce stress, increase mental clarity, and help you cultivate a deep sense of discipline and self-awareness.
Why this workshop is perfect for you
This isn't about perfectly executing every pose on your first try. It's about meeting yourself where you are and building a strong, sustainable practice. We'll break down the sequence so everyone feels confident and supported.
For Beginners:
A Solid Foundation: Learn the structure of the Primary Series step-by-step, starting with the Sun Salutations and foundational standing poses.
Breath and Movement: Discover the transformative power of connecting your breath to your movement (vinyasa) to create a focused, moving meditation.
Essential Techniques: We'll cover the fundamental components that make Ashtanga unique, including the deep, rhythmic ujjayi breath, energetic body locks (bandhas), and gaze points (drishtis).
Modifications and Support: Receive personalized guidance and learn modifications for poses that suit your body and its unique needs.
For Intermediate Practitioners:
Refine Your Practice: Delve into the nuances of alignment, timing, and transitions to deepen your existing practice.
Navigate the Seated Series: Gain insights into the seated postures, twists, and backbends, working on more challenging variations with expert guidance.
Explore Deeper: For those ready, we'll introduce key aspects of the Intermediate Series, focusing on how these later postures build upon the foundation of Primary.
Connect with Community: Practice alongside others who share your passion, creating a supportive environment for growth.
What to Expect During the Workshop:
Over the course of this immersive workshop, you will:
Move through the Ashtanga Primary Series, with clear, guided instruction for every step.
Engage in detailed breakdowns of key poses to refine your alignment and build strength.
Learn how to incorporate props to support and deepen your practice safely.
Build the confidence to develop a self-practice at home or join a Mysore-style class.
Conclude with a calming finishing sequence and savasana for deep integration and rest.
