Whether your goal is better posture, less back pain, or more strength and power in athletic endeavors, your core health plays a vital role in optimal functionality. In some ways it’s a no-brainer; the center of your body affects (and is affected by) nearly every movement you make. However, HOW you use your core is a larger question.
In this workshop we’ll examine common postural and overuse pitfalls, the source of strength and stability in the core, and how we can better integrate whole body movements with the core for increased alignment, power, and longevity. While we will discuss core anatomy (which you can think of like a quick glance at your body’s owner’s manual), the majority of our time will be spent learning and practicing yogic techniques for strengthening and stretching the core, with plenty of intentional breathing (turns out the diaphragm plays a big role in core health as well).
Laura is dedicated to working with the students in front of her. We will be addressing and discussing how YOUR body can function more optimally through better core health. So please come with questions and quirks!
