This 3-week workshop series is for anyone interested in learning or revisiting the yoga basics. While the three weeks will build on one another, there will be a review during each class, so it can be attended as a stand alone class. It is encouraged that participants bring a notebook and pen, a mat (if you have one), and a beginner's mind. Classes will be in a workshop format where questions and engagement are highly encouraged. Hands-on assists will be provided to deepen understanding and directional movement of postures.
Week 1: Building a Strong Foundation | This class will focus on creating a shared understanding of the yoga basics, including feeling common cues in your body and finding your breath.
Week 2: Finding Stability and Building Up | This class will build on your foundation of feeling cues in your body, build confidence in standing postures (e.g., crescent lunge, warrior poses, triangle), and incorporate movement in standing postures (twists and bends).
Week 3: Creating Space for Vision and Flow - This class will continue to build on your strong foundation, and will focus on finding space, growth, and vision in each posture. We will move through sun salutation A & B, hold balancing postures (e.g., eagle, warrior 3, half moon), and find our flow.
Students that attend all three classes will receive a $25 voucher towards a 10-class pass (or first month of membership) upon completion.
