According to the Upanishads, our human nature consists of five dimensions. These are referred to as the pancha kosha, or “five sheaths”, which are often thought of much like the layers of an onion.  Beginning with our outermost sheath (our physical body), each layer brings us closer to revealing our true Self, or Atman. Through the practice of yoga, the koshas become more transparent as we gradually begin to access greater clarity, energy, and insight. 

 

Join us for this 3-week series in discovering more about the koshas, as we design our practice to peel away the outermost layers through a reflective practice.  

 

No prior yoga knowledge necessary; dress in comfortable clothes that allow for movement.  Each class will incorporate the practice of asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathwork), and mantra (chanting).
