Description
Chinese Sports Medical Massage is virtually unknown in the United States.This 16-hour workshop will focus on specialized procedures in Chinese Sports Medicine designed to reduce inflammation, blood stasis, adhesions, neurologic and orthopedic trauma, and to increase flexibility and strength in the athlete at a rate much faster than traditional Sports Medicine in the West. Many of these techniques are completely unknown in the U.S.
Instructor: Terry Norman has been performing Tuina for over 46 years. He has studied at many different schools both in the U.S. and China in the fields of bodywork and Asian healing arts such as Acupressure, Tuina (Chinese medical massage), and Sports Tuina. He is Nationally Board Certified in massage therapy through the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, (NCBTMB), is a National CE Provider through the NCBTMB, and is a Certified Instructor with the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA). For 11 years, Terry served on the Exam Committee helping to develop the national exam for massage and bodywork. A CE Provider and MTI for the State of Texas, in 2013, Terry was Inducted into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame.
Terry has studied at the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine In Shanghai, the National Olympic Training Center, Beijing, China, and has worked on athletes from 5 different Chinese Olympic teams.
