Om Factory is excited to announce our third annual Kids Aerial Circus Camp! This summer, we are offering two camps with instructor Liz Minnick and two special guest instructors! In July, kiddos aged 6-12 are welcome to enroll in our Level 1 Camp, while a second Level 2 Camp in August is open to more experienced young aerialists aged 8-14.

Week One (August 12 - August 16) will focus on Lyra and Trapeze, and Week Two (August 19 - August 23) will center on Silks and Hammock. Kiddos have the option to sign up for a single week or BOTH! Liz and her guests will introduce your child to the wonderful world of Aerial Circus, Acrobatics, and Teamwork as they build solo and group acts. Each day will include themed cirque-style classes, creative movement, and activities centered around aerial acrobatics. On Saturday August 24 at 2:00 PM, Aerial Circus Camp will culminate with a Circus Showcase for family and friends to enjoy. Join us to revel in the talents of this summer’s camp attendees!

Kids of all experience levels are welcome.

9:00 am - 9:15 am: Welcome

9:15 am - 9:30 am: Warm up

9:30 am - 10:15 am: Aerial Apparatus Class 1

10:15 am - 10:45 am: Snack Break

10:45 am - 11:00 am: Acrobatics & Tumbling

11:00 am - 11:50 am: Aerial Apparatus Class 2

11:50 am - 12:00 pm: Closing circle

Prerequisites:

Lyra/Trapeze
Straddle inversions
Pullover to roll to sit

Silks
Ability to climb to the top of the fabric on both sides and create foot-locks in the air
Knowledge of hip key & same side inversion climb

About the Instructor:

OFSY's Aerial Yoga Teacher Training remains the second best decision of Liz’s life. The first was of course to run away and join the circus! Liz has been playing in the air for the last ten years and loving every single moment of it. Working with Cirque du Soleil and their outreach program Cirque du Monde brought her all over the world and landed her at OM Factory in 2009 while on tour. She was thrilled to later return to Manhattan and teach at a studio that she loves so much. Her experience in teaching children aerial acrobatics has inspired her to help develop Om Factory’s Kid’s Aerial Yoga Program.

In Spring 2016, Liz traveled to Om Factory Seoul to lead OF’s first ever Kid's Aerial Yoga Teacher Training. While there, she also led Aerial Dance, Advanced Aerial & Lyra Teacher Trainings. Her Asian adventures continued in Vietnam, where she brought Aerial Yoga to Om Factory Hanoi and assisted Kevin Bigger’s Aerial Yoga Teacher Training at the studio. In addition to teaching aerial yoga, dance and fitness to both children and adults, she also teaches Lyra which has been her primary performance apparatus for her aerial career.
