Anusara Yoga is an alignment based school of Hatha Yoga that promotes creative freedom and individuality while teaching within a precise methodology called the Universal Principles of Alignment™. Whilst the the teacher weaves an inspirational heart theme through each class the the alignment principles bring attention to the sacredness of the physical body. Students learn how to properly align the body as well as develop strength, vitality and a clearer understanding of how the body works in order to master life’s challenges.
Morning Session: Stand Strong and Shine (10am – 12:30pm)
Come and explore the intelligent alignment principles that Anusara Yoga is famous for particularly the fundamental teachings of muscular and organic energy. These principles when applied bring both stability and freedom, strength and expansion to your standing pose and backbend practice. Experience how establishing steadiness in your base offers an opportunity to expand into the spaciousness of your heart and shine your own unique light.
Afternoon Session: Plant the Seeds of Courage (2pm – 4:30pm)
In this inversion workshop we will explore the world upside down through a range of fun and playful inversions and inversion sequences including handstand, forearm balance, headstand and shoulderstand. Drawing from the Universal Principles of Anusara Yoga we will practice setting a safe and steady foundation to give you the confidence to come into these powerful poses with strength and courage.
