Winter Solstice Yin Yoga workshop 

Join yoga educator Joann Engelberth on Tuesday, December 21st 6:30pm-8:00pm via Zoom for the Winter Solstice Yin Yoga workshop. 

Winter solstice marks the beginning of the Earth’s turn back toward the sun, an auspicious time, marking the return of light. Insight is an attribute of the Fire element, exactly what you must call upon to keep your internal and eternal flame burning warmly. Then you can shine the light in your heart outward in kindness & generosity, towards yourself, and to others. Light your internal fire by meditating on your heart with cooling postures offering you the opportunity to direct your focus inward, using the light created inside so that you may “see in” by the light of your own internal fire. 

In this workshop we’ll work through a sequence of long, grounding holds in yoga shapes focusing on the fire in your heart. Each pose will be held for 3–5 minutes and you’ll enjoy a mini meditation in each posture that includes conscious breathwork, visualization, mantra, and journaling opportunities.

• Journal and pen

• Optional: candle
