Description
Traditionally bandhas are powerful advanced pranayama practices that were done for the purpose of affecting your body’s subtle energy. In modern yoga practices “bandha-like” movements are often invoked to stimulate the physical body. In this workshop you will be introduced to the energetic models that these techniques are built on. You will also practice asana, pranayama, and meditation to invite awareness to the three main bandhas. Additional resources will be provided to participants. Additional resources will be provided to participants. Participants are encouraged to bring note-taking materials, a practice mat, and wear comfortable clothing for movement. Yoga Alliance CEUs will be available for participation in this training
This class will be lead by Dr. Kim Allen, a certified 500-hour teacher and 500-hour yoga therapist through the American Viniyoga Institue. Kim has her doctorate in Helath Education, is an adjucnt professor at IUPUI, a certifed Yoga Therapist, a licensed Massage Therapist, and a Nationally Board-Certified Wellness Coach. She has been teaching yoga since 1996 to a wide range of speciality populations and loves teaching others.
