Iyengar Yoga is based on the teachings of BKS Iyengar, one of the most respected and influential yogis of our time. With an emphasis on anatomy and precise alignment, students both strengthen and stretch the body. Using props such as blankets, blocks, chairs and belts, this is a safe yet challenging method of yoga that provides both physical and mental stability. Some yoga experience is required. Levels I & II reinforce the fundamentals of basic standing, seated, twisting, forward and back bending poses, as well as preparation for inversions.
Your Instructor - Pamela Ryan, LMT CIYT
Pamela has been a licensed massage therapist since 1997, and has
studied a number of yoga disciplines in the U.S. and India. As a
Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Pamela designs her classes from a
therapist’s perspective. By creating sequences that allow each
student to balance strength and flexibility of the body, discomfort
from common postural distortions can be alleviated
Please bring your mat or rent one of ours. All other props are provided. Registration and payment are required.
