Welcome Summer EPY Retreat! 
Please plan to arrive at Big Bear anytime between 8:30-8:50am to check-in.   
The retreat begins at 9am and ends at 5pm.

Directions: 

From Eugene: (about a 45 minute drive)  Please do not follow your GPS.  Sometimes GPS sends people on a wild goose chase, but Google Maps seems to work fine.  The directions are pretty easy.  It's basically two turns from Eugene.  Take Highway 126 West towards the coast.  Pass through the town of Veneta and continue on another 15 miles to the tiny town of Walton.  When you see the Walton Store and Post Office, slow down, and signal for a Right turn.  Turn Right onto Nelson Mountain Road and drive about 4 1/2 miles. There you'll see a yellow 'bear crossing' sign with 'Big Bear Camp Retreat Center' on top.  Turn Left here and continue down the driveway about 1 mile to Big Bear Camp.

About Big Bear:

Big Bear Camp is tucked into a narrow valley and is completely off-grid. All facilities have wood or propane heat. Lighting is provided by solar arrays and LED lanterns. There are no electrical outlets, cell service or wi-fi. Please make the necessary arrangements so that you can be away from your phone/computer while you are at Big Bear. You may leave the number for Big Bear (541) 510-5885 with your family should an urgent need arise. Messages are checked morning, noon, and night.  

What to bring:

A yoga mat. There will also be some mats available
A shawl or blanket or sweatshirt if you want (the morning can be chilly)
Any meditation cushions or benches you like to use. There will be cushions, benches, and plenty of chairs available
Rain gear
Hiking shoes
Water bottle 

Meal:  Please bring a packed lunch. There will be tea and snacks available throughout the day.
