We are thrilled that Michelle will be back for another jam-packed immersion weekend! Join us for all or part of this unique opportunity to explore and deepen your yoga practice.
Weekend Overview
Every morning will begin with
Mysore practice followed by Pranayama and Yoga Sutra study. Each
afternoon, we will focus on a different element of Ashtanga
Yoga.
This year's immersion topics include:
Healthy
Backbending
Most students who enjoy yoga, enjoy
it because they are flexible, so stretching deeply feels good to
them. However, without intelligent movement, this can cause many
problems and possibly pain in the body. In this class, we will take
an intricate look at how to backbend in a healthy way, supported by
strengthening of the legs, inner thighs, glutes, and both the
superficial and deep core muscles.
Bandhas, Vayus & the
Subtle Body
We will take a look at the subtle
(or etheric) body and how it operates. With this knowledge, we will
access a deeper level of our natural forces to bring into play when
attempting to transition between postures. In particular, we will
focus on how to lift up and jump back.
Sangha Study &
Discussion
Students will have a safe space to
ask any questions concerning their practice and studies. This may
include a question about a posture in which they are struggling or
experiencing pain, an emotional experience they are having, or a
philosophical or historical question about the lineage, yoga and
related subjects.
