Join Sitaram Dass and Pavan Dass for an evening of kirtan at Everyday People Yoga! Sitaram Dass and Pavan Das were direct students and caregivers for Ram Dass and members of the kirtan group, Kripa. They continue to serve their teacher by sharing the devotional path of the heart, and they will be accompanied by a full band of experienced kirtan musicians. Kirtan is the call-and-response chanting of the various names of the Divine from the ancient Sanskrit language. It is a practice of Bhakti Yoga, or the yoga of love and devotion towards God. As it says in Be Here Now, “The way Bhakti works is you just love until you and the Beloved become One.” All of these Names point to the deepest reaches of our own heart where our True Nature resides. Through chanting, teachings, and storytelling, this night of kirtan is intended to awaken the Heart of Love.
