Join us for the day to explore this sacred form of Hawaiian
bodywork. Although the term kahuna lomilomi is widely used in
contemporary writings, traditionally the people who performed
lomilomi were called ka poʻe lomilomi (the massage people) or
kanaka lomi (massage person).
In the Hawaiian language, the word lomi means to knead, rub or
soothe, to work in and out. The massage session is filled with
beautiful, long, sweeping strokes similar to a Hula dance. In fact,
as part of the Lomi training you will learn the traditional Hula
dance. You might have heard that Lomi can really save your hands.
Well…it does. A lomi session is revered for its spiritual healing
results. Participants during this primarily hands-on workshop will
explore the Hawaiian principles for conscious touch and learn some
of the great energetic healing techniques performed in an actual
Lomi Lomi session. You will have plenty of time to learn it and
practice on each other.
