Vintage “R Bennett STERLING” stamped silver bracelet Morenci Turquoise Vintage Cuff. Condition is "Pre-owned” vintage piece - no damage. I inherited this bracelet and tried to research the turquoise stones... please see the photos. The stones are beautiful- they are a vibrant dark blue green, but more blue.... I think they are Morenci Turquoise. Slight veins in each stone but they are all matched very well as the 5 stones look nicely paired together.

Gorgeous turquoise and studded sterling silver piece is signed by “R. Bennett” and the “STERLING” silver marking. 

A little bio about the artist: Raymond Bennett, Navajo, has been a silversmith since 1994. He lives where he was born and raised, in Gallup, New Mexico. He learned his craft from his family members, including both his parents and his uncles.

Raymond Bennett (Navajo) is a listed silversmith in Barton Wright's “Hallmarks of the Southwest”. He began using “R. Bennett or Ray Bennett” in 1978. At one time Ray was the resident silversmith for Atkinson’s Trading Company.

Morenci Turquoise is one of the most well-known and famous because it was one of the first American turquoises to be sold on the market. Known throughout the world for its gorgeous true-blue hues mixed with a silvery iron pyrite matrix; it also came with a rare golden pyrite matrix. Also found were aqua blue green turquoise stones with birdseye webbing, which are areas of color circled with matrix resembling a bird’s eye, and water webbing matrix. This mine has been closed for several years, making Morenci Turquoise rare and highly coveted by collectors.
