Do you have difficulty gripping, feel hand weakness, or experience pain at the base of your thumb? These are hallmark signs of thumb arthritis, also known as CMC or basal joint arthritis. CMC affects primarily post-menopausal women and those with occupations and hobbies with repetitive motions that cause regular strain on the hands and wrists.

Join physical therapists Dr. Sarah Eads and Dr. Linda Wells, as they offer insight and expertise to help you navigate treatment options, lifestyle adaptations and alternative strategies to reduce pain and preserve your thumb joint health.

We’ll cover:

  • Thumb joint anatomy and the how & why of CMC arthritis
  • Simple lifestyle modifications that reduce pain.
  • Alternative treatment strategies including massage, dry needling, bracing, and more!
  • Risks and rewards of injections and surgery.

Walk away with a better understanding of this condition, empowered with knowledge and the tools to reduce pain and care for your joint today.
