An accessible but challenging class always open to first timers. Acro is a practice of postures and flows in which people lift one another in the air. It's fun, social, and a terrific workout. In addition to the introspective awareness exercised in other Yoga practices, in Acro, attention also turns outward while neuromuscular coordination is developed as we work with others. No need to bring a partner; positioning and sequences are explained in manageable segments then practiced in small rotating groups, typically with a base (grounded), flyer (lifted), and spotter. Participants can base, fly or practice all of these and more as they wish.
The last Sunday of the month is an open practice session by donation, in place of the regular lead class. An instructor will be present and available to practice and coach, though there will be no formal instruction, just time and space to get together and work on whatever. Find more info on the AcroYoga CT FB Group or message @skrucial.
