This training will cover a 4 Step (90 minutes) process into
establishing a meditation practice. The first lesson
will cover the basics such as what is meditation, what are the
benefits of meditation, when to practice mediation, how long to
meditate, along seating, e.g. floor, chair, cushions, setting up
your space, and bringing other tools such as journaling, aromas,
ambiance, and music. The second lesson will build on the first and
introduce the use of pranayama techniques and a
mantra. The third lesson will build on the first two and
introduce how to use mala beads in conjunction with a mantra and
pranayama prior to starting your meditation
practice. The last session will take the students more
inward (pratyhara) and focus more on a mantra (Dharana) vice the
music and aromas, to allow for a deeper and quieter meditation
(Dhyana) practice. This would include introducing the four soul
questions, removing titles, followed by setting four intentions at
the end of practice.
Each class will have a 40-minute lecture, 20-minute gentle asana practice, followed by a 30-minute meditation except the last class which will be a 40-minute meditation. *The first meditation will be a guided meditation.
