Capoeira is a unique Brazilian martial art that combines self defense, dance, and acrobatics. More than a martial art or dance, Capoeira is often considered a way of life by those who practice it. The Studio Cooperative believes that holistic wellness is supreme to "working out" at the gym, and that our bodies are a reflection of our mind's ability to be centered and powerful in everything we do. Capoeira is not just about the dodging defenses, swift attacks, and wily feints of the game, but it includes the world of music, the rituals of respect, and the development of energy and potential within the spirit. You don't have to possess a martial arts, gymnastics, or a dance background to train capoeira. We will teach you everything you need to know!! All classes begin with a brief warm up, stretch and a workout that includes partner work to develop your technique. Wear comfortable t-shirt, workout pants (no shorts or jeans, please) We play Capoeira in bare feet at The Studio Cooperative. Bring a towel and a bottle of water. See You at The Studio!
