The Mindfulness and Meditation Training is an elective module of the Embrace Yoga 300-hour Teacher Training program. In this module, students will explore the practice and principles of meditation and mindfulness. Although meditation and mindfulness are often interchanged, they are quite distinct. Mindfulness is being in the present moment throughout daily activities. Meditation has a long tradition in yoga and spiritual contexts. This course dispels myths associated with meditation and mindfulness and provides direct experience with several common meditation and mindfulness practices. Meditation’s role in the eight limbs of yoga and in classic yoga and tantric writings is presented. During this weekend, students will develop a plan to begin or enhance their own mindfulness and meditation practices. After completion of this module, participants should be able to share beginning meditation and mindfulness practices with their students.
We welcome yoga practitioners and yoga teachers to attend this course simply as a yoga retreat to deepen your practice or for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education (YACEP) credits.
