Whether you are brand new to yoga or want to learn better, safer alignment, this series is for you.
Shine Yoga studio owner, Sara, has crafted a unique system for understanding yoga postures that looks at posture categories (backbends, forward folds, standing postures, balance postures and twists) and applies a set of alignment cues to each category. Students first experience the anatomical cues in isolation, learning to activate small muscles and commit activation to muscle memory. Students then explore those same cues across a wide-variety of postures within that category.
The result is a clear understanding of how yoga works, increased body awareness, and the ability to grow by applying what you've learned as you progress in your yoga practice.
The price of the series, $120, includes a one month membership ( a $139 value) beginning after the second week of the series so that you can begin to apply what you've learned in yoga classes.
The series will conclude with a workshop on meditation and mindfullness, a key component of any yoga practice.
The session content is as follows:
Session 1: Alignment & Basic Anatomy
Session 2: Standing & Balancing Postures
Session 3: Forward Folds & Back Bends
Session 4: Twists & Applying Posture Principles
Session 5: Breath & Sun Salutations
Session 6: Meditation & Mindfullness
