Do you experience chronic pain? I do. Living with a genetic disease I am in some form of chronic pain everyday but through the practice of yoga I have learned how to navigate through the pain. During the workshop I will share my story and how yoga changed my life and took me from 60mg of morphine twice a day to pain med-free. I understand that everyone’s chronic pain is Unique to themselves and will offer a “toolbox” of yoga practices that can help you better navigate through your experience with pain.
While yoga can’t fix everything, it can help significantly reduce pain, change how you see and recognize pain while also providing focus for your mind and calm for your emotions.
The workshop will include:
Yoga postures that will help move and stretch the body while stabilizing the joints.
Breath awareness and the benefits of working with your breath to help lessen chronic pain.
The use of props such as yoga blocks, straps, blankets, bolsters and chairs.
Restorative Yoga.
Discussion where you can be heard, share your journey and ask questions.
