Vin Yin is a yoga sequence that has both movement and stillness.
Starting with movements linked with breath known as Vinyasa, to warm up body up and rid of stagnation and toxins. After this, your body has a greater capacity to pause. The Yin part is both strengthening and stretching muscles, but the longer hold gets deeper into the fasciae, tendons, and ligaments that prevent joint stiffness.
Perfect for the athlete or those needing to slow down and active mind. This practice trains you to be still, and really get to know yourself, your body, how you think, and breath through moments of intensity.
Why both work well:
Vinyasa Yoga is a flowing practice, moving with your breath through various poses in a flow-like sequence. Variations will be offered so that you can adjust the practice to suit what you need at the time.
calms the mind
improves cardiovascular health
helps release stagnated or pent up energy to leave you feeling calm and at peace
Yin Yoga holds poses for 3-5 minutes. This deep stretch is relaxing and will target deep connective and fascia tissue, increasing your flexibility.
improves range of motion
decreases stress as you focus on breathing practices
