Hatha is translated as sun and moon. It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation. Poses are held for longer periods, from 30 seconds up to 3 minutes to increase health and wellness benefits of the poses. This class may include chanting in the sound of “Om." and other mantras. “Om” represents unity with all things. This class goes into the deeper roots of yoga and is for all levels.
