<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Many people are able to extend compassion toward others but find it difficult to extend the same compassion toward themselves. This program focuses on cultivating the capacity, intention and desire to direct compassion to self as well as others.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Research shows that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional wellbeing, coping with life challenges, lower levels of anxiety and depression, healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and more satisfying personal relationships. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">This 4 week series is a compilation of fourth wave psychology combining the skills of mindfulness and the work of Kristen Neff's self-compassion to enhance our capacity for emotional wellbeing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">We will practice using mindfulness to help us tune inward with kind awareness toward difficult experience (thoughts, emotions, and sensations). And incorporate self-compassion by bringing loving awareness to ourselves. Together, mindfulness and self-compassion comprise a state of warm, connected, presence during difficult moments in our life and beyond.</span></p>
