Join me, Lynn Brauer your guide, for an introduction to heated yoga designed specifically for seniors 55+ who have had little to no experience with the practice of yoga. Using gentle, easy movements that allow you to be a part of a safe community of individuals who could use an hour of peace! When I first attempted yoga at another studio, I was so lost! The language the instructor used, the complex poses they did and the less than welcoming environment was not a good first impression. As a teacher of 30 years in public schools, I decided I needed to learn from other teachers, so I enrolled in the Teacher Training with Linda in September of 2017. I learned so much more than I expected in that training, not only about the language the teachers use, the poses used in the practice, but my training lead me to a peace that I had never felt before, yet felt so familiar!
Using easy to follow directions, this practice will couple gentle movements with intentional breathing techniques to lead you to a peace that a good yoga practice gives you!
Once you have a solid foundation of practicing yoga, you may want to challenge yourself to other yoga classes where the poses are a bit more challenging and the rewards just keep getting better!
This 60 minute class will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30. The studio will be heated to a warm 85 degrees which provides you a more beneficial session. You will need to dress in comfortable clothing and bring a mat, a small pillow to sit on or place under your head, a water bottle and perhaps a towel because you will sweat! Since the studio is 100% COVID compliant, the class will be limited to 11 students.
