PWYC: This class is being offered on a Pay What You Can (PWYC) basis. All funds paid for PWYC classes will be reserved into our new Brass Butterflies Bursary Fund (BBBF) which will be allocated to applicants to reduce cost barriers and make BB services more financially accessible. You may choose whichever pricing option you feel is appropriate for you. The titles “Unemployed/Underemployed, Employed, and Extra Donation” are suggested guidelines.
Non-Session Class: These classes can be registered for on a one-off basis rather than a session at a time. You will work on skills at the named level of our Brass Butterflies curriculum and each student will work at their own level and pace. The instructor will customize to each individual student's current level.
Class Descriptions:
Beginner Pole: We introduce progressively more intricate and strength intensive spins and holds on the poles. As you build your strength we will prepare you to do basic inversions and climbing the pole along with even more dance, transition and floor moves to round out your pole repertoire. Just a few of the featured moves in this class will be Chair Spin, Diamond Spin, Push-pull Holds, Windmill, Climb and Sit, Basic Inversion, Snake Dismount.
Intermediate Pole: Taking it to the next level, students will evolve their inverted repertoire to include leg hangs, and our namesake move, the Butterfly. You'll learn spins that will make you feel like you're flying around the pole (Spiral, Twister, Cobra to name a few) and you'll even learn to lay back from a sitting position and hold on with just your thighs. WOW!
Advanced Pole: Students should now be comfortable with Extended Butterfly and will begin learning even more advanced variations of this beautiful move. Aerial Inversions, Shoulder Mount, Helicopter, Superman and Hip Holds, Cupid, Figurehead, Genevieve, Dove, Shooting Star and Half Jade are just a few of the moves you will learn in this level.
Masters Pole: Masters Pole is for students who have progressed beyond Advanced Pole. Students will work on increasingly difficult poses with more complicated transitions.
Elite Pole: For the student who has progressed beyond the Masters curriculum and is ready for more challenges in their practice! Elite pole is by instructor invitation only.
Split Level Classes: This is a split level curriculum class which means there may be students from Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Masters or Elite Pole levels in this class. Students registering for split level classes should be aware that more independence will be required as they work on their assigned movements while the instructor works with other students. All students in split level classes will get individualized instruction but should be prepared to also share the instructor with the rest of the class. Split classes are a great place for students who are nearing the end of one level but are not quite sure they are ready to progress to the next level!
