The Full Moon represents manifestation of our goals. It symbolizes
fulfillment. Following the phases of the moon may allow you to be
more in harmony with the natural world, allowing for a natural
cycle of new beginnings, growth, manifestation and letting
go.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditative practice
incorporating conscious relaxation where you can explore the
various states of wakefulness, dream and deep sleep. This is an
ancient yogic practice often referred to as ‘yogic sleep’ or the
‘sleep of sages’ but we practice with the intention of remaining
awake and aware. The practice can leave you feeling deeply rested
with a sense of improved physical
vitality.
The practice will begin with a focus on breath and gentle movement
preparing the body and mind for the final stages of savasana
(corpse pose) and guided meditation. The power of Sankalpa
will be integrated into the practice manifesting your own
personal intention. A Sankalpa (sanskrit meaning
‘intention’) is a tool meant to harness the will
helping to harmonize mind and body and planting the seeds for
your ‘hearts desire’.
This practice will require whatever props you need to be
comfortable in Savasana. Blankets, bolsters, pillows and an eye
pillow are often used.
