We learn yoga on the mat, but ultimately our work is to take
yoga off the mat and into our life. As we have experienced
firsthand these last few months, this work of living your yoga is
not for the faint of heart, it takes determination to return to the
path again and again. This asana-based, online series with Kara
Aubin utilizes the 8 limbs of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras as a
framework to explore how we can embody our yoga.
In November we will embark on the second limb, the Niyamas, and explore how to cultivate these five ways of thinking on the mat. The Niyamas serve as a guide for the personal work of yoga, where we begin to see our worldview shaped by our practice. Asana, pranayama and meditation will be our tools to experience the teachings of the Yoga Sutras, a text that has guided the practice of yogis for thousands of years. This is an opportunity for both newer and experienced yogis to deepen their practice and explore the ancient wisdom of the Yoga Sutras in a practical, hands-on manner.
