This is a 60 minute introduction to Vinyasa Flow. The term, “Vinyasa,” means “linking movement to breath,” and “to place mindfully.” Typically, Vinyasa tends to be a faster paced, Yang (energetic) style of practice. However, in this beginning vinyasa class, we will break each asana (pose) step by step, discover modifications and work on proper alignment that works for YOUR body. Expect to build confidence, strength, flexibility and enhance your muscular endurance.
While this class is geared toward the beginning yogi, it is also quite suitable for advanced practitioners as well. This class will help those with more experience slow down and get back to the basics while building muscular strength and endurance with the longer holds during our “fine tuning” portion of class.
During the last 30 minutes of class, we will incorporate what we have learned into a modified slow flow and end with a 5-10 minute relaxation.
