This class is appropriate for intermediate students needing a gentle session or beginners who have an understanding of alignment concepts, relevant anatomy, and basic vocabulary of yoga practice. We'll expand on the exploration of pre-asanas and classical poses, giving appropriate modifications where needed, introducing some intermediate asanas and refinement of alignment. Emphasis is on continuing to develop a balance between strength and flexibility, muscular engagement and relaxation. Supported backbends and inversion will be enjoyed after sufficient preparations are complete. Inspirational reading and poetry play an essential part in the setting the tone of the class.
