This class is appropriate for beginning and intermediate students who have some understanding of the alignment concepts, relevant anatomy, and basic vocabulary of yoga. We'll expand on the exploration of pre-asana and classical yoga asanas, introducing some intermediate asana and refinement of alignment. Emphasis is on continuing to develop balance between strength and flexibility, muscular engagement, and relaxation. At the discretion of the instructor, students will begin to experiment with more advanced poses that could include backbends, inversions, or vinyasa flow. Poses are typically held for longer and more variations of postures are introduced.
