Ballet is a dance technique with a focus on beautiful lines,
subtle strength and seemingly effortless control. In this class we
will utilize the barre portion of a ballet class to articulate and
engage our bodies. By paying explicit attention to anatomy and
alignment, students will deepen their understanding of physical
self. Repetition in barre exercises allows change and adaptation to
happen within students’ fascial and muscular structures while
cultivating specific neuromuscular patterns.
This class will give students a foundational understanding of
ballet technique for cirque application. Participants are
encouraged to take class with a wall, sturdy chair/table, counter
or ballet barre nearby. A theraband and lacrosse/massage ball is
also recommended.
