This course will be a review of anatomical terminology and concepts
as they relate to movement. Participants will become more confident
in functional anatomy and overall understanding of human movement.
Practical application of the concepts will be discussed and
demonstrated. The workshop will include lectures,
demonstrations, discussions and practicums. Students will be able
to define and describe basic kinesiology concepts (e.g.,
planes/axes of movement, types of joint movements, how muscles
function, etc.). Students will be able to relate anatomical
function and description to common activities. The student will be
able to identify the major muscle groups used in activities and
function.
