KEMETIC YOGA -Tjef Neteru Sema Paut, meaning Movements in
Unified Company with the Gods & Goddesses, is a modern
rendition to an ancient Egyptian system of physical postures for
health, meditation and spiritual enlightenment developed by Dr.
Muata & Karen Ashby in the 1970s. This practice is a branch of
Smai Tawi (Egyptian word for Yoga meaning Union of the Two Lands)
stemming from the ancient teachings.
Tjef Neteru Sema Paut takes each practitioner on
a journey through the emptiness of space and time towards the
unison of the higher self experienced in 5 phases: Creation, Geb
(Earth), Animal Diety, Goddess & Establishment. Focusing on
holding each pose and breathing deeply from the diaphragm, this
practice utilizes a series of geometrically progressive postures to
create alignment of the spinal column, cultivating cerebral spinal
fluid to flow more efficiently through the entire body and easily
progress from the root chakra to the crown chakra. Those familiar
with yoga will recognize many of the poses though the names may be
new to learn.
