The SCB
International Intensive is aimed at gifted dancers who are ages
seven to eighteen (Grades 2-12) and who are interested in pursuing
professional training. Care is taken to ensure the daily
schedule reflects international standards for dance education at
every age. Children in this intensive are given the opportunity for
exposure to the world of dance on an international platform
ensuring they are prepared and making connections in the
professional community they will enter. The classical curriculum is
rooted in the Vaganova Method following the Bolshoi Ballet Academy
Methods for Teaching Classical Dance. Students are educated not
only on the technique and artistry of dance but also on their body
awareness and understanding.
Dancers
will be able to train throughout the summer with both SCB full-time
faculty and guest faculty from around the world. These intensives
act not only as a way for dancers to immerse themselves in their
passion, but also as an opportunity to audition and be assessed for
the upcoming ’21/’22 season.
Classes
will be formed based on both age and level. Daily Classes will
consist of Conditioning, Classical Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary and
Guest Workshops.
