Stretchy Stretch Gentle/Restorative Yoga is a gentle, slow, still style of yoga that involves long, passive holds in a series of 4-6 restful poses. Yogis are often supported by props to enhance or deepen their experience and achieve a state of total relaxation and release. This combined with a gentle practice will help get your body out of stress mode, release tension, calm the nervous system, gain clearer thinking, and restore overall balance to body, mind and soul.
Yoga is perfect for anyone who wants to work on flexibility, strengthening, breathing, peace of mind and injury prevention. Yoga strengthens muscles, improves joint flexibility, and enhances balance, coordination, and posture through a series of diverse poses. Don’t forget your yoga mat and water bottle! If you sweat a lot, you may want to bring a towel too.

One of the most obvious benefits of yoga is improved
flexibility. If you’re new to yoga, it’s best not to expect
that you’ll be touching your toes or doing backbends in your first
class. But if you choose to stick with it, you’ll gradually
loosen up, and before you know it, poses that seemed impossible at
one point will become possible. You may soon notice that
aches and pains start to disappear, and that’s no coincidence.
If you have tight hips, you may notice knee pain due to
improper alignment of the thigh and shinbones. Back
pain? Tight hamstrings can flatten your nice neutral lumbar
curve which can cause back pain. Inflexibility in muscles and
connective tissue, such as fascia and ligaments, can cause poor
posture as well.
Our SIN Fitness yoga teachers are highly trained, so relax and enjoy, you’ll be in good hands.
