Yin is a slow, non-heat
building practice where postures are held for extended
periods of time – generally 3-5 minutes. Most yin postures
are done either seated or lying down. Yin targets less flexible
connective tissues such as joints, ligaments,
fascia, and tendons that
strengthen and become more flexible with longer holds. Yin can be a
perfect balance to activities such as walking, running, and biking
where muscles are strengthened through movement and heat
building.
