Chair yoga offers all of the benefits of traditional yoga postures using a chair as a prop to explore variations of the postures to make them more accessible and support safe and effective alignment. Options will be offered to students throughout class to make postures more chasllenging or easeful as desired. Each class will incorporate yoga practices to help improve strength, flexibility, posture, balance, breathing, and resiliency in times of stress. All are welcome, no experience needed.
If you own yoga blocks and/or a yoga strap please bring them with you to class. You should wear comfortable clothes that allow easeful movement, sneakers or comfortable shoes. Feel free to bring a water bottle along. If you do not own yoga blocks and/or a yoga strap, we do have new and used ones available for sale.
All class participants must wear a mask during class. If you have a fever or any COVID-19 related symptoms, have been exposed to soneone with COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks, or have traveled outside of the state in the past 2 weeks and are not vaccinated (To a state not listed by the Maine CDC as a state safe to travel to without quarantine or teasting upon return) you should not attend class for 1-2 weeks until clear.
