<p>This comprehensive immersion training is designed for any current or aspiring yoga teachers who wish to learn to teach Yin Yoga, as well as for any<strong> </strong>enthusiastic students and Yin practitioners who wish to deepen their knowledge of Yin Yoga and immerse themselves in all things Yin. The following topics will be addressed through a variety of lectures, discussions, and hands on practice:</p>

<li>The Philosophy and Evolution of Yin Yoga (Yin vs Yang yoga, Yin vs Yang tissues).</li>
<li>Anatomy and Physiology (what and how is involved) - the study and the difference between tension, contraction, and compression (skeletal variations and how they affect the shape of the pose).The role of fascia and deep connective tissue.</li>
<li>Subtle Body and Energetic Anatomy (Harmonizing and Expansion of Prana/Chi, the study of Modern Meridian Theory and of the Chakra System)</li>
<li>The Aspect of Mindfulness and Meditation in Yin practice</li>
<li>The Asanas of Yin Yoga (target areas of the body, including upper body and counterposes)</li>
<li>Special Situations (safety meets effectiveness - props use and variations of Yin poses to meet functional approach to practice)</li>
<li>Yin yoga class design (sequencing, flows, timing, music, intention, lecture vs sacred space ratio)</li>
<li>Practice teaching </li>

<p>The credits of this course count as 40 CEU (continuing education units) with Yoga Alliance. CEU’s are required to maintain your status as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).</p>
