This class follows the principles of Lakshmi Voelker's Chair Yoga.Each Chairasana taught in class is an adapted version of an asana found in a traditional mat yoga class. These adaptations may look different but will provide the same feel to the muscles as their mat counterparts yet making them accessible to all.
This class frequently integrates movement practices from other Eastern arts like Qigong, Reiki, and Accupressure.
This class is ideal for all with limited range of motion, seniors and physical challenges.
You will need a sturdy chair with a back that allows you to sit upright. This is similar to a kitchen chair. A yoga mat is helpful but not required. Class can be done in barefeet but not required.
Blocks and straps can be used but not necessary. *This is a seated practice but some may opt to stand. *Different levels of flexibility or options will be presented to make the practice unique to your own experience.
