Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual discipline originating in ancient India. While stretching is certainly involved yoga is also about creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This is done through the performance of poses or postures = asanas each of which has specific physical benefits. Chair will be provided.
This class follows the principles of Lakshmi Voelker's Chair Yoga. Each Chairasana taught in class is an adapted version of an asana found in a traditional mat yoga class. These adaptations may look different but will provide the same feel to the muscles as their mat counterparts yet making them accessible to all.
This class frequently integrates movement practices from other Eastern arts like Qigong, Reiki, and Accupressure.
This class is ideal for all with limited range of motion, seniors and physical challenges.
