This one hour class is for all levels, especially older adults and those beginning a new exercise program. Increase your strength and endurance, and improve your balance and flexibility with a variety of exercises using hand weights (or canned goods/ bottles) and body weight. This class is designed to provide a comprehensive and safe strength training program. The focus is on exercises that apply to daily functional activities. In additions to weights, please grab a mat (or use a towel on the carpet) and a chair. The chair can be used as a balance tool or as a seated option for some of our exercises. If you happen to have a stability ball or a small ball at home, feel free to use this as an option. Lastly if you have a band (or a towel or tie) for stretching, you can grab that as well. Class ends with about 10 minutes of stretching and relaxation.
