Discover the fun of aerial yoga! This class is designed as the very first class to take for all students new to aerial yoga at Flow Motion, even if you've taken it elsewhere. We'll show you the ropes, teach you the various types of aerial yoga classes, how to use the yoga swing, class etiquette, safety, and of course some basic yoga poses and movements in the yoga swing!
You'll be instructed on the basics and given options, so you can do what you're comfy with. Please take at least one Intro to Aerial Yoga class before moving on to the beginner's level classes. Most student feel best taking 1-3 Intro classes before moving onto the ongoing beginner's level classes.
You MUST wear a shirt that has sleeves long enough to cover your underarms when raising your hands above your head. This prevents deodorant on the underarms from being deposited onto the yoga swings. Please note, many women's short sleeve shirts don't properly cover underarms. You may also want to wear a shirt that covers your elbows and pants that cover the knees to protect your skin. Flow Motion thin hoodies, perfect for yoga, may be purchased in the boutique should you forget a proper shirt.
Keep jewelry safe at home. Jewelry may tear the fabric of the swing and render it unusable for safety reasons. Students who wear jewelry to class and rip the fabric are responsible for the $500 replacement cost of the yoga swing.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to aerial yoga classes to settle in and have your yoga swing adjusted before class. Late arrivals are no longer accepted.
