The practice of yoga is designed to help us reduce our own suffering and increase our capacity for joy. It takes intention to step out of the urgency of life and make space to observe our habits. Whether teaching group yoga or creating space for personal practice, effort to create an intentional space is needed. In this workshop we will discuss various tools of yoga (karma, sankia yoga), what yoga tools are most valuable for you at this time in your life, and how to create space for a personal practice to help you be more functional in life. We will also talk about the role of the yoga teacher, how to create themed yoga classes, marketing ideas, and ethics of teaching. This class will include lecture and guided practices. Additional resources will be provided to participants. Participants are encouraged to bring note-taking materials, a practice mat, and wear comfortable clothing for movement. Yoga Alliance CEUs will be available (10 hours for participation in both days of training).
