We practice āsanas in many ways. We may move through several
poses in a short time, or hold one pose for a long time. In this
workshop, we will explore inner stillness and stability while we
are moving with rhythm and flow. We will also consider how even in
apparent stillness, there is dynamic movement and life
within.
Working with poses from many categories, we will consider the
relationship between intensity and duration. If a pose is intense,
duration will be less. If the approach to the pose is mild or
supported, then the time spent in the pose can increase. Learn to
vary your approach to practice using these four basic ideas of
movement, stillness, timing and intensity.
Along the way, Karen will also share ideas about how to work with
common physical problems that we encounter in āsana practice.
