Join Melissa for a two-day exploration of the fundamentals of yoga philosophy. In this session, we go beyond asana (postures) and uncover what some of the major yogic texts tell us about the broader practice of yoga. You will learn...
- definition(s) of yoga and other key terms
- key dates and ideas associated with yoga philosophy
- the blueprint that key yoga texts offer for living life, including how to practice yoga and interact with the world around us
- ethical precepts of yoga and how we may incorporate them today
Since becoming a YACEP®, Melissa enthusiastically introduces students to Patanjali and other texts. She honors the history while offering a modern, western world perspective. As a result, her students apply many of the philosophical lessons to their everyday lives.
This workshop is intended for ALL practitioners who want to learn about / expand their knowledge of Yoga Philosophy; you do NOT have to be a yoga teacher. Yoga teachers who attend are eligible for 18 Continuing Education Units through Yoga Alliance.
