For
beginners eager to obtain a new jewel of confidence in
compassionately touching another human in a deeply healing
way.
Ayurveda
teaches the best therapies for Vata imbalances are applied through
the use of hands and received through the skin. Vata imbalances are
psychologically experienced as anxiety, fear, impulsiveness,
stress, imbalances such as intense fluctuating waves of emotion,
confusion, and uncertainty. Vata imbalances are physically
experienced as variable or low digestion, constipation, dry aches
and pains, dry skin, anxious movements, weakness and or an
excessive lightness of being.
This is
an immersion into TOUCH Therapy. We will over-view touch therapy
for caring for Vata Pitta Kapha Constitutions and Doshic
Imbalances. There will be a natural seasonal emphasis on balancing
Vata.
We will introduce preparatory body, breath and awareness practices, body dynamics, touch techniques and easy theory and diagnosis. This practice will be fully experiential- you will receive and give touch to another. You will leave with more confidence in giving impactful massage to your family and friendsor enhance your already known touch abilities in your own offerings to others. Also- In order to learn a simple sequence we have to invest our time in a very focused way so please be fully present for class times and ready to touch and be touched. Come clean and in fresh clothes- especially those feet and nails and breath!

Please dress in loose stretchy clothing which covers as much skin as is comfortable- Think warm and cozy or just yoga sport. Please come healthy, eat lightly and stay hydrated.
