The Winter Solstice is the darkest/shortest day of the year in terms of sunlight hours. What's amazing is that after this mostly dark day, we immediately but slowly begin to receive more light until the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice. The fluctuation in nature from light to dark back to light again reminds us that our own periods of darkness or “unknown-ness” are always temporary.

The intention for the evening is to release expectations and give over to what's real and present, allowing instinct and intuion to take over mind, body and heart. This process is the beginning of breaking though whatever ways you’ve been feeling stuck on or off the mat.

Through meditation, journaling and asana practice we will touch in on all 3 major areas of growth(and life): mind, heart, and body. The asana portion will be broken up into light breath work/awareness(pranayama), flow, deep stretch, and deep rest. You are more than capable!

Still feeling a little *in the dark* about what all of this means? Perfect. That’s exactly where this practice begins!

What to Bring

Please bring your mat, water, a towel, blocks if you have them, a very light snack if you feel like you might need it before or after we practice. The Solstice Class is scheduled for 2hrs and 15min to leave time for everything without rushing. You will not be doing asana the entire time.
