The Winter Solstice is the darkest/shortest day of the year in terms of sunlight hours. What is amazing is that after this mostly dark day, we immediately but slowly begin to receive more light until the longest day of the year, the Summer Solstice.
The fluctuation in nature from light to dark back to light again reminds us that our own periods of darkness or “unknown-ness” are always temporary. Our processes take time and unfold naturally, regardless of how fast we wish they would go.
We will play with a very free flow meditation and switch up the flow of your asana practice. You will burn away the expectations for your body and perhaps even breakthrough whatever ways you’ve been stuck in a routine on your mat. If there is a pose you’re working on or feeling stuck in, bring that to the party. If you’ve been doing your practice the same exact way for months or years, get ready to break free and embrace the unknown…at least for one night!
Feeling a little *in the dark* about what all of this means? Perfect. That’s exactly where this particular practice begins!
