FOR CLIENTS NEW TO
PILATES REFORMER ONLY! This class is
designed for those who have never been on the reformer or are very
new to the reformer and is REQUIRED before attending higher level
classes.
Up to 10 people workout simultaneously on their own reformer.
The class instructor will lead the group through a series of STOTT
PILATES® repertoire exercises.
You will learn the basics of Pilates (STOTT Principles,
etc.) and everything you need to succeed in all other group
equipment classes. Please note that this class is specific to those
new to Pilates and/or the reformer. This level of class flows from
one exercise to the next to incorporate all major muscles groups as
well as flexion, extension, rotation, and lateral flexion of the
spine. You must have consent from your instructor before moving on
to our next level classes.
The Reformer helps you establish torso stability and postural
alignment while working peripheral limbs in a range of motion. The
adjustable springs allow for progressive resistance, which helps to
lengthen and strengthen the muscles rather than building bulk. It
makes for an effective, no-impact stretching and toning workout
that is friendly to the joints. The effects of the Reformer go
deep, and you'll engage muscles you never knew you had. As you
progress, the fitness challenge becomes significantly
greater.
